Wildlife

While wildlife is not our focus, we here at MMAS won’t turn our backs on any animal in need. We will never offer permanent housing for wild species, but can offer supportive care during their transition from captivity back to the wild.

Parrots

When these two are not threatening to burn the barn down or “keel” us in our sleep, they’re actually some very interesting animals. No, we don’t take their smack talk seriously. Their bites do hurt, but we’re glad they can defend themselves in the wild. Lollie and Esther are not easily handled, although Lollie was very tame when she first came to us. The whole point of rehabilitation into the wild is to nurture their natural instincts and not make pets out of them. They each have very complex backstories. Click the photos to learn more!
